These terms govern your use of Greenlit Dark. By opening a production account or generating a frame, you agree to them.
1. What the service is
Greenlit Dark generates footage and stills for film productions and produces the paperwork that makes that footage defensible: human review before any master is released, verified likeness releases before any real face appears, and an append-only audit ledger recording what was made, from what, and who cleared it.
2. Accounts and productions
Accounts are issued to a named producer and attached to a production. You are responsible for what happens under your login. Accounts are not shared or transferred without our written agreement.
3. The clearance package
Every production pays a one-time clearance package before it can generate. The package covers the paperwork, verification, and review capacity for that production, and it includes clearance for a set number of cast likenesses. Additional performers may be cleared for the per-actor fee shown on the Pricing page. The clearance package is earned when the work of verification begins and is not refundable once your production is opened.
4. Money: bill on render
You fund a production balance in advance. Generation is quoted before you submit — the price of the shot appears on the button. You are charged when a provider delivers a render. A render that fails, is refused by the provider, or cannot be stored costs you nothing, and the failure is shown to you in plain language. Charges are deducted from your production balance and recorded in your billing history.
5. Review, and what approval means
Previews are watermarked and are not deliverables. A clean master is released only after our review team approves it. Approval is a judgment about clearance and platform standards — not an endorsement of your project, and not legal advice about it. We may refuse to release a master. Where a refusal is our call rather than a failure of your paperwork, we credit the charge back to your balance.
6. Real faces require paper
A recognizable real person may appear in your footage only through a performer we have cleared: a signed AI likeness release, verified by us, attached to that production. Free text cannot name a performer. You warrant that every release you submit is genuine, signed by the person it names, and accurate. Submitting a forged or unauthorized release is grounds for immediate termination and forfeiture, and we will cooperate with the performer.
7. What you may not generate
No sexual content involving minors, ever, under any framing. No real-person likeness without a cleared release. No content that infringes another party’s copyright or trademark. No content intended to defraud, harass, or impersonate. Some engines carry additional provider restrictions, which are shown in the studio and enforced at submission. We hold flagged requests for human review before generation rather than after.
8. Ownership
You own your inputs: your script, your prompts, your uploads, your production. Subject to your account being in good standing and the applicable provider’s terms, you own the outputs generated for your production and may use them commercially. We retain the audit record of what was generated, and a license to hold and process your material for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your material to train models, and our generation providers operate under paid-tier terms in which submitted content is not used for training.
9. Suspension and freeze
We may freeze an account immediately where we believe the platform’s standards, a provider’s requirements, or a performer’s rights are at risk. A frozen account keeps its material and its balance; it cannot generate until the matter is resolved.
10. Warranties and limits
Generation is probabilistic. We do not warrant that any particular shot will match your intent, that the platform will be uninterrupted, or that a provider will remain available. The service is provided as-is to the fullest extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding it. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages.
11. Your indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from material you supplied, releases you warranted, or footage you used — including claims by a performer whose release you submitted.
12. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use after that is acceptance. You may close your production at any time; unused balance is handled under our Refund Policy.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Greenlit Dark is organized, and both parties consent to venue there.
